Bay Area Cherry Blossoms Family Photoshoot
“Due to their short bloom time, Sakura blossoms are a metaphor for life itself: beautiful yet fleeting. You’ll realize when you’re as old as me to hang on to the good times because they won’t last forever.” — Shannon M Mullen
My favorite thing about spring is the bloom of beautiful pink cherry blossom trees all over the Bay Area. But however beautiful these pastel trees are, the bloom is so short lived. After the first flowers appear, peak bloom happens one week later. Soon after the petals start dropping to the ground, sometimes in a flurry of romantic pink ‘snow’ and by week 2 or 3 it’s all over. Their beauty, just like everything in life is not forever, but then again isn’t that the beauty of it? Cherry blossoms are our reminder to appreciate the good while it’s here.
Thank you Wong family for showing up on this spring afternoon and showing all the love under the canopy of these cherry blossom trees. I had the best time photographing the laughter, joy, and snuggles with their beautiful and energetic daughters. Mom and Dad, before you know it they’ll be all grown and off to college, but for now I hope I was able to capture all the magic of their childhood and freeze this fleeting time in photos. Enjoy this wonderful season of your life while it lasts. =)
